Matilda’s Magical Classroom
Inspired by Roald Dahl's book, Matilda, the Matilda's Magical Classroom experience offers an immersive, magical learning space that takes users on an unconventional, non-linear journey filled with exploration, mischief, and surprises. This unique, multi-sensory classroom environment engages learners of all ages, challenging traditional educational norms and perspectives.
Matilda's Magical Classroom stimulates children's natural curiosity by blending physical and digital technologies, encouraging them to interact with the physical world while stepping away from conventional screen-based interactions. This enchanting space features projections, interactive screens, audio, and motion sensors to create an array of surprising, engaging interactions.
These interactions offer instant feedback in the form of rewards or punishments, reflecting the contrasting teaching styles of Miss Honey and Miss Trunchbull. Key interactive elements include The Chalk, The Bookshelf, The Test, and The Window. By combining physical and digital elements in a seemingly analogue room, Matilda's Magical Classroom captivates users and encourages them to explore the wonders of learning through a fresh, immersive lens.

Matilda’s Magical Classroom invites users to engage with objects that will either reward or punish them.
The magic chalk lets users draw on the interactive tables and have their drawings projected across the classroom walls.
Users can open each interactive table to reveal a specific object, projection, or audio that corresponds to the book.
The book pedestal moves up and down, prompting users to approach the magic book and adjusting itself to the user’s height. The magic book reveals instructions and a passage.
The books in the digital bookshelf fly around in response to the user’s vocalisation of the passage written in the magic book.
A simple multiplication problem appears on the interactive board. The user places a magnetic number on the answer box.
When a wrong number is placed, Miss Trunchbull will scream at the user. When the correct number is placed, Miss Honey will reward the user with a gold star.
A text on the trampoline prompts the user to jump out of the window to escape Miss Trunchbull.
The motion-sensored trampoline plays short audios of Miss Trunchbull screaming. A hidden Miss Trunchbull actor appears to scare the users into a corridor.
The user inserts a special token into the vending machine in the corridor and gets a packaged slice of chocolate cake.
