This project is a multimodal story based on Aboriginal Elder, Uncle Greg Simms’ stories that sits across three media: interaction design, motion design and visual narrative.
What is Country
An interactive tap essay based on Uncle Greg’s Aboriginal stories. The tap essay takes users on a journey of sharing stories, sharing food, catching pufferfish, and appreciating Aboriginal totems. The aim of the tap essay is to gain a deeper sense of respect and understanding of the Indigenous stories.
The Crow
A motion graphic sequence based on an excerpt from ‘The Crow’ told by Uncle Greg. The motion sequence focuses on the psychological trauma experienced by the Stolen Generations as a result of their forcible removal from their families; illustrated through visuals that mimic brain imaging.
